Elle a personnellement constat\u00e9 que l\u2019endom\u00e9triose est une maladie n\u00e9glig\u00e9e, insuffisamment enseign\u00e9e et minimis\u00e9e dans la formation m\u00e9dicale, ce qui a conduit des g\u00e9n\u00e9rations de professionnels de la sant\u00e9 \u00e0 ne pas savoir, \u00e0 \u00eatre mal inform\u00e9s et \u00e0 contribuer au retard dans le diagnostic et le traitement appropri\u00e9 des femmes souffrant de cette maladie.\u00a0 Cette lacune dans la formation l\u2019a amen\u00e9e \u00e0 poursuivre sa formation de boursi\u00e8re en Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande o\u00f9 elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 immerg\u00e9e dans un mod\u00e8le de soins de l\u2019endom\u00e9triose centr\u00e9 sur le patient et soutenu par les politiques.\u00a0 Elle est retourn\u00e9e au Canada pour se concentrer sur l\u2019endom\u00e9triose et la promouvoir comme une sous-sp\u00e9cialit\u00e9 \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re. La Docteure Belland a fond\u00e9 le Fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Complex Gynecologic Surgery \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Calgary pour former de futurs visionnaires dans le domaine des soins de l\u2019endom\u00e9triose. Elle a dirig\u00e9 le projet Endo(Vision), qui a r\u00e9uni des patients, des gyn\u00e9cologues, des industriels et des fondations caritatives pour g\u00e9n\u00e9rer plus de $ 500\u2009000 destin\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019achat d\u2019\u00e9quipements d\u00e9di\u00e9s aux soins de l\u2019endom\u00e9triose dans son h\u00f4pital.\u00a0 Liane participe en tant qu\u2019\u00e9ducatrice pour les etudiants de medecine et les m\u00e9decins de famille au niveau communautaire, en tant que membre de conseils consultatifs nationaux et dans des projets de recherche locaux et nationaux.\u00a0 Elle est actuellement vice-pr\u00e9sidente de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 canadienne pour l\u2019avancement de l\u2019excellence en gyn\u00e9cologie (CanSAGE).<\/p>\n
