What are your endometriosis symptoms like?\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n
My Endometriosis symptoms are as follows: PAIN: in my pelvic area, travelling down my leg, ribcage, Lower back, tip of my shoulder blade, nausea, dry heaving, dizziness, fatigue and pain because this symptom is the worst I also have symptoms that stem from the medications I take, the nausea and dizziness may be from the drugs.<\/p>\n
What was your journey to diagnosis like?<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n My problems started in March of 2020 where I had emergency surgery to remove a cyst on my left ovary. Afterwards I grew a several more cysts, one requiring emergency surgery in July 2020. The local gynecologist suggested a hysterectomy to resolve the cyst issue, my fallopian tubes and my right ovary were also removed in September of 2020. The pathology on the removed ovary found a patch of endometriosis. Afterwards I struggled to heal and developed stomach issues as well as an endometrioma on my right ovary. To address my stomach issues I received a scope May 2021 that showed nothing wrong. Based on what I know now I believe my stomach issues are endometriosis symptoms. Starting Dienogest also helped to calm the daily dry heaving that led me to seek out a gastro specialist. The complexity of my case led to the local gynecologist dropping me as a patient. Since then I have worked with my family doctor to deal with the pain symptoms and be referred to endometriosis specialists as well as following up on ultrasounds to track changes. I am 6 months (from the time of writing this) away from an appointment with the Endometriosis clinic in Ontario, about a year away from booking an appointment with a more specialized gynecologist in Prince George and an unknown amount of time away from an appointment from a specialist appointment in Vancouver (best guess is at least six months). The waiting is almost the hardest part of having endometriosis.
