Kate Wahl, MSc, is a PhD student at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and the inaugural Executive Director of EndoAct Canada. She believes that the experiences of those seeking care for gendered health conditions like endometriosis can play an important role in supporting evidence-based, patient-oriented health policy and has been awarded a prestigious Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship to support research in this area. As an active member of the Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Research Laboratory since 2017, Ms. Wahl works on strategies to raise awareness of this condition, including school-based education programs and digital media campaigns developed in collaboration with people who have lived experience with endometriosis as well as other stakeholders. Her research about endometriosis has received funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research, the BC SUPPORT Unit, the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health, and the UBC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
