Volunteer with EndoAct

A core EndoAct value is inclusivity – we want to make sure that our work is led by people with diverse experience and expertise about this condition. We are recruiting 7 additional volunteers passionate about endometriosis who can participate in 90 minute bi-monthly meetings and provide feedback on EndoAct projects.

Volunteering is just one of many ways to be part of the EndoAct mission to improve the lives of people with endometriosis in Canada by driving policy action that is based on science and grounded in the needs of the endometriosis community. You can also share your story, spread the word on social media using #EndoActCanada, and sign up for the newsletter to learn about new initiatives.

EndoAct is actively seeking volunteers from every province and territory, and especially those who live outside of Nova Scotia, Quebec, and Ontario, which are currently represented by at least one volunteer. EndoAct is also actively seeking volunteers from groups who are underrepresented in endometriosis advocacy and research in Canada, including but not limited to, people who are Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, LGBTQ2+; people with disabilities; people who live in rural, remote, and Northern communities; young adults; and caregivers (e.g. family members, friends). EndoAct is looking for potential volunteers who have lived experience with endometriosis and additional expertise in communications; advocacy; law; finance; and equity, diversity and inclusion.

Role: Regardless of their type of expertise, EndoAct Canada volunteers:

  • Have a passion for enhancing the wellbeing of people with endometriosis
  • Can share their thoughts and opinions in a group setting
  • Respect other people’s thoughts and opinions
  • Want to work with others whose backgrounds, experiences and styles may be different from their own
  • Can commit time to participate in virtual meetings (~90 minutes every two months) and provide feedback on projects by email or phone
  • Keep information confidential, as appropriate
  • Believe in the Mission, Vision, and Values of EndoAct Canada

The final 7 people will be selected by consensus of the interviewers, based on their fit with the role as well as experiences and skills that are underrepresented in the current EndoAct team.
