Jocelyn Wessels, MSc, PhD, is a Researcher in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at McMaster University. Her primary research interests include: understanding the role of uterine bacteria in endometriosis and fertility, improving endometriosis diagnosis, and assessing alternate pain management strategies for endometriosis. Jocelyn has been doing research in reproduction since 2006, and has been passionately working in endometriosis research since 2011 because she believes this is an area where her contributions can have a significant impact on improving lives. Jocelyn’s work has resulted in more than 30 research papers, 3 patents, and many collaborations. She has been recognized by a wide range of awards including a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Postdoctoral Fellowship Award, a CIHR Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship, Ontario Women’s Health Scholars Award, and YMCA Guelph Women of Distinction Award in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). Dr. Wessels is honoured to be a part of EndoAct Canada.

Dr. Wessels reports a licensing agreement and patent PCT/CA2014/000742 pending with Exeltis, outside EndoAct Canada work.
